If you consider your blog as a source of making money, then consider this. You start your blog from scratch. You pay for domain and hosting (if you are using WordPress.org) that will cost around $50/ year. If you are more desperate, you advertise too that will be around $5 per month. After 6-8 months of honest and hard blogging, you will start earning $100 per month and what you will be doing in a whole day is just searching information and posting it. No more promotion.

Let’s talk about HYIPs now. HYIP= High Yield Investment Programs. These are the programs where you invest your dollars for some fixed duration of time and get huge returns. HYIPs are good income source for those who have extra money to invest. These programs are little risky, so check the status and review of various programs at HYIP monitors. There are numerous monitors and they will tell you which HYIP is paying and which one is not.

Now that you have decided to invest here, what next? Open an account with Liberty Reserve. No HYIP accepts PayPal (as per my knowledge). You can use AlertPay or MoneyBookers but Liberty Reserve is the best. After you open the account, you can deposit money through a bank transfer. But one thing is important here. No blogger is giving a cash prize to their top commentator. And it’s quite obvious too. Nobody can afford to give dollars as a prize. But breaking all barriers, my friend Lax of TechZoomIn is starting a top commentator contest where he is distributing $100 to his top five commentators. That’s a huge reward for just posting comments.

But to avoid spam, he has laid down some rules and regulations.

Talking about the ABOUT page, I will like to tell you that the first thing I check out in a blog is this page. I want to see where my fellow bloggers are from, what they did and what made them start blogging. When they start blogging and what is their experience. This gives me encouragement that I CAN DO THIS TOO.

Creating an effective ABOUT PAGE is not an easy task. You have to specific, precise and in the same time, outstanding. The structure of an ABOUT page should be as follows

1. Your blog introduction- start the page with a brief summary of your blog. Tell them what it is about and what kind of information they can expect to find in your blog.
2. Your bio- next should be about you. Who you are, what is your place of origin, where did you studied and your current status. If you want, you can also include your hobbies in this column.
3. Why you started blogging- this is the area where you should write about what made you interested in blogging. You may write your experiences here and you can write about why you chose this domain for your blog.

This is what I think will complete a good ABOUT page. And I think my ABOUT page meets this requirements. And remember, change is permanent. So do not be surprised if you find a different structure next time for this page.

Writing killer first few lines of a post is not easy. The first stanza should be such that tells the reader what will be there in the post and should go with the title of the post. You need lot of clarity in your thoughts for this. The layout and formatting of the post should be kept in mind.

Strategy no 1– in your first paragraph, ask some question from the reader. This will help you create euphoria among the readers and they will read further. The question should be such that the reader is forced to say to him- “Hey, this is the question that was troubling me. Let’s find its answer.”

Strategy no 2 — reveal some stunning fact. Always be updated with the latest happenings and in your first line, write that fact in such a way that everyone wants to go further to read it. Build your post around that fact and get the reader’s compliments. And they will visit you next time to get all the latest information.

Strategy no 3 – give your own example. Believe me guys; there is no better thing than writing examples. People love to hear what the other went through to reach this level of success and they will read the full story. This will help you building relationships with others on the internet.

For my blog, I wanted a domain name that solves two main purposes for me.

1. It reveals the identity of the blog– I wanted a domain that those who read it should have an idea to where the blog belongs.

2. It reveals the motive of the blog– I wanted a domain that those who read it should have an idea what the blog is all about and what it discusses. I got this inspiration from Dollar$hower. Apart from just a domain, Dollar$hower has inspired me to start my own blog.

3. It keeps pace with time– With time, the world keeps changing and so the scenarios. So, I selected a domain that with time, do not get old dated or expired. I did not want a domain that did not caters to my blog niche after 2 years from now. It should be evergreen.

So, if you see IndianCashMaker, you come to know that this blog belongs to the great India and talks about online money making, blogging and all the stuff in this niche and is evergreen as I say it. And I think, this is the main reason behind the increasing popularity and visitors of my blog in such a small span of time.

While selecting a domain for your blog, I will recommend you keep above three points is mind. This will remove any type of confusion you have regarding the selection process and you will be able to lay your hands on a domain worth paying for years.

If you want to post every day, then you must have lots of content and ideas on which you can write exciting worth reading posts every day. But your blog should be on a niche which is not very specific. For example, if you blog niche is CRICKET, you have a very specific blog. You can write only on cricket and it’s quite obvious, you would not have that much to write on this topic 365 days a year. But if your blog’s niche is SPORTS, be it any post, trust me you will have enough quality material to write about it at your leisure. Moreover, some day will come when you will feel you are short of ideas. Every blogger in his blogging career suffers from Writer’s block. So, its better you do not post every day.

Now, coming to the cons of posting at delayed intervals. If your blog is an established blog and traffic comes to it at nice, regular pace; you can afford to take a break between every blog posts. But if you are still new and trying to make a name there in the blogosphere, well, you can’t relax. You have to research your niche, find the best news first and write about it. If you delay and someone else writes, chances are you might lose some visitors.

Coming to the conclusion, I would suggest the bloggers to make a schedule for them. 20- 25 posts per month would be enough, for both established and newbie. Decide for yourself whether you want to write 5 posts per week or 7 posts in 10 days, your average should come around 20 posts per month and that will be good.

It’s been three months since I started ICM and at the moment, I have more than 100 followers on twitters. I don’t know whether it’s above or below average but I am happy. Reason- I have earned my followers. All my followers are following me because they want to. I have not given them any offer; nor I am giving them anything in return. And I believe this is the way to get followers.

There are some services on the internet that are giving you followers for some dollars. And those who are buying the followers have just one motive in mind- to get 10000 followers and attract companies so that they can write SPONSORED TWEETS and earn revenue. Those who are hardcore money makers are using them but I am not in its favour. This is because Twitter stands for the reputation you have earned as a blogger. You can buy followers and nobody will ever come to know that you are not making them follow. And they will adore you for such a huge number of followers. But that will be cheating, isn’t it? Your visitors have just started trusting you and you are playing with them. That’s not fair.

After its launch of this blog on 4^th June, 2009, the first and foremost thing for me was free traffic. I have good content and information to share with my readers but it could be only possible if I get traffic. So, I started promoting my URL in various forums. At that moment, I was not aware of the power of commenting which I regret. If I had used it, this blog would have been much more successful.

Anyways, with the help of forums, I started getting around 5 visitors per day. Things were starting to look good. By the end of June, my visitor count was increasing at a good pace. My first burst of visitors was from MyBlog2Day where I have written a guest post. That post got me around 50 visitors in 2 days. And it was here I made a mistake.

In the first week of July, IndianCashMaker was a PageRank 2 blog. This was a huge reward for me as not every blog achieve this feat in its very first month. I thought that my blog has got enough promotion and exposure and hence, I stopped posting in forums. It was the biggest mistake of my career as a blogger. In a week, my traffic reduced to 2 visitors per day. I took my PR2 as a traffic source which ultimately proved wrong.

I got over this and then, instead of using forums, I start commenting in blogs. My comments were not just spasm, they were authentic and meaningful. My visitors again reached to about 10 per day but I didn’t stopped. I continued commenting on the posts which I liked.

The best thing that happened to me after starting IndianCashMaker was my interview at SpeakBindas.com. It gave me immense confidence and encouragement and now I am blogging with more enthusiasm than before.

Now coming to my earnings, I have not earned enough. All I have earned is $5 at Adsense in these 3 months. But I am not very perturbed about it because I know that after a year, things will change a lot. I will continue blogging the same way, to make a name for myself and to take ICM to new heights.
